£45,000 + uncapped commission, OTE £54,000 +

The Role

The Company

Our client is a recognised global manufacturer of professional coffee solutions. With an excellent breadth of products, they offer high-quality, innovative coffee solutions across the HoReCa, Convenience, B&I and public sector channels. The business has achieved global success driven by an absolute passion for coffee.


Ranging from filter brewers, bean-to-cup systems and including premium Barista-focussed Espresso machines, they have excellent solutions to cater for all parts of the market, supported by outstanding support and service. Continuous R&D and NPD ensure that they stay ahead of the game in terms of innovation and exciting new product introductions.

The Role

Following continued expansion, they are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive growth and market share of their coffee solutions in the UK and Ireland by growing upon their existing presence in this market, as well as actively driving new business development.

  • Manage and build positive relationships with the existing customer base to increase growth.

  • Monitor and review customer trading and performance, to up-sell effectively.

  • To look for new opportunities and continue to grow the brand within the UK&I.

  • Attend weekly/monthly sales updates and budget meetings with the National Sales Manager.

  • Using experience and market knowledge within the UK coffee industry to promote business in an effective way.

  • To oversee and support equipment training for our Dealer network to drive end-users' sales.

  • To gain an excellent knowledge of the brand.

  • Working closely with the Technical Manager to support and arrange training with Key accounts.

  • Attend exhibitions and industry events to promote the business.

  • To keep all CRM records updated on a regular basis with a variety of information.

  • Be a great team player as well as a hard-working individual to succeed as part of a winning team.

  • Conduct yourself with the utmost integrity and work with safety as a priority.

  • Constantly promote the brand in a customer-friendly and professional manner.


The person

We are specifically looking for a candidate with Business Development Management experience from the coffee or related industries, with a passion for the sector and a desire to make a significant impact on sales across the UK & Ireland.

  • Able to manage key customer and distributor relationships across a multi-channel distribution territory;

  • Present, pitch and negotiate across all levels, adapting your approach to suit each;

  • Results-orientated with a focus on action and activity;

  • Self-starter and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset;

  • Strong completer-finisher and organisational skills ensuring that all business development opportunities are followed up and closed where possible;

  • Excellent communicator able to work with colleagues across all business segments, optimising available resources and supporting colleagues;

  • Demonstrable track record of B2B selling;

  • Excellent customer empathy with the ability to listen to past experiences and quickly assess and appeal to their needs and  values;

  • SCA certified Barista qualification is desirable but not essential;

  • Passionate about the HoReCa sector;

  • Competent user of CRM and IT software applications.
