The Role
The Company
A recognised and respected supplier of a varied range of innovative design-lead tabletop products sold to the Foodservice and Hospitality markets. Aimed at the mid-high end of the market, their ranges can be found in prestige hotels and premium eateries as well as casual dining and institutional catering settings. They are well known for leading edge design and innovation as well as high quality, durable products sold through a national network of distributors.
The Role
In this newly created role, the Commercial Director will be expected to head up the marketing and purchasing function and have hands-on involvement in all marketing activities. Primary responsibilities include:

Line management of the Marketing and Purchasing functions.

Overall management and hands on involvement in the business’ annual marketing activities including planning, implementation and management of the yearly schedule of trade events, product launches, digital / printed brochures and the website.

Support and strategic management of the Purchasing team including maintaining and nurturing high level supplier relations, factory engagement, margin management and interaction with the NPD team.

Strengthen and develop the marketing and purchasing functions to contribute to the growth and profitability of the business.

Budget planning and management.

Contribute to the senior management team decisions and responsibilities
The Person
We are looking for an experienced director level person, with experience of hands on marketing, working with suppliers and purchasing teams, and with keen commercial skills. Foodservice/HoReCa experience would be advantageous.
Applicants should demonstrate the following:

Senior management experience in a SME business.

Hand on Marketing Management (5 years+)

Website development and management plus digital marketing.

Management of the product life cycle across a significant sized portfolio of products.

Gross margin and budget management
-
Purchasing and global supplier relationships

Branded consumer or hospitality products - Glass / Ceramics / Metalware

Route to market, via a complex supply chain.
