The Role
The Company
Our client supplies a range of quality catering equipment brands. They are the exclusive distributor and factory representation for the brands in the UK and so behave very much as ‘the Manufacturer’.
The product range is sold mainly via distribution and includes branded cooking, bakery, pizza, pasta refrigeration display and cabinets, food prep, blending, beverage, proving and butchery ranges.
The company has achieved steady growth and has an open and supportive culture, they doubled in size during Covid and continue to post good results. They deliver excellent products and customer service and sell consultatively by highlighting the benefits that the products can bring to the customer.
The Role
This role will focus on sales of the full product range via distributors to the general HoReCa market. The area will cover the North of England but could also include national travel if leads come in from further afield.
Tasks include (but are not limited to):

Sales and promotion of the full product range to a network of Catering Distributors (including wholesalers and design houses).

Establishing strong professional relationships with distributor clients.

Growing business through effective sales calls and increasing client awareness of any current product promotions.

Ensuring that each sales call has a goal -both in terms of current activity and long-term pipeline.

Daily and weekly communication with your line manager and other regional sales staff sharing leads and offering support wherever possible.

Accompanying distributor sales staff on visits to the end user to present and promote the products, highlighting their USP’s, benefits and potential ROI.

Making some direct presentations to end users to promote the products with a view to passing leads via the appropriate dealer.

Monthly sales reporting.

Sharing feedback from your territory on trends, challenges etc. to your line manager and other departments to support the business marketing and strategic development.
The person
The successful applicant will demonstrate the following:

Sales and/or Customer Service experience gained within the Foodservice Equipment or Beverage Equipment sector.

Motivated self-starter who can work well autonomously whilst playing a key part in the wider team.

Excellent organisation skills with the desire to move into field sales

Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel extensively and stay away from home when required.

Strong self-management skills with a strong work ethic -treats every call as a sales opportunity with clear goals to achieve.

Personable and professional, able to understand the need of the customer and present a compelling solution which will deliver value.

Passionate about the foodservice industry.

Excellent communication skills -both with clients and colleagues.
