The Role

The Company

We are the retained search partner of this global supplier of specialist life-saving equipment sold to Fire & Rescue and related sectors worldwide. They manufacture and develop systems for cleaning breathing apparatus, safety equipment, tools and other equipment used in the line of service by Firefighters and related industries.

In depth research has shown that Firefighters are significantly more likely to die of cancer as a result of exposure to dangerous toxic chemicals and particles. By thoroughly cleaning all PPE equipment after every call, these appliances provide a truly life-saving solution which enables Firefighters to take control of their own health and safety.

The Role

This is a new role which will see a dedicated Sales Manager covering the whole of the UK. Sales in the UK are already growing rapidly and there is a wealth of opportunities which require a dedicated colleague ‘on the ground’ to harness them. Responsibilities include:

  • Strategic sales growth across Fire Services and related sectors in the UK.

  • Devise and Implement a sales strategy to take over ongoing leads and accounts whilst mapping and targeting new business.

  • Regular visits to customer sites to establish need and conduct full site surveys.

  • Monitoring of tender opportunities and producing bid proposals to tender for new sites.

  • Full customer support through installation and training plus any ongoing support required .

  • Production of training and user guides which can be used in the stations.

  • Collaboration with internal colleagues and external partners to ensure smooth service delivery and full customer support.

  • Regular feedback to R&D about opportunities to improve and expand the product offering.

  • Accurate record-keeping to ensure that all ongoing sales and prospect opportunities are fully managed.

The person

This is a pivotal role for the business and an excellent opportunity for a dedicated, customer-focused sales professional to make a clear difference -both to your customers and to the business. We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate:

  • Proven field sales experience, able to plan, maintain and grow sales across a large geographical area.

  • Excellent consultative sales skills, can provide examples of winning sales of high-value equipment or solutions through fully highlighting the benefits to the customer.

  • Technical equipment understanding would be beneficial.

  • Experience of selling to the Emergency & Rescue services would be a distinct advantage.

  • Tender writing experience would also be an advantage.

  • Experience of conducting accurate site surveys and coordinating equipment installations.

  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage a varied workload as well as maintaining an ongoing pipeline of leads and opportunities.
