Sales Specialist -Patisserie & Bakery




Negotiable DOE, OTE £60,000 - £70,000, company car or car allowance plus other benefits

The Role

The Company

Our Client is a supplier of some of the most innovative Foodservice Equipment solutions in the world.  They have a longstanding legacy of working with industry leading distributors and consultants to deliver outstanding commercial cooking solutions and are recognised for their excellent service levels, equipment knowledge and world-leading brands.

The Role

This is a new role focused on developing and growing sales of a highly innovative range of products designed for the Bakery and Patisserie channels. Sales are made via a network of distributors and Foodservice Consultants with direct presentation to end-users to showcase and promote the products. 

  • Compile and prioritise a database of target clients, for whom you will be responsible for devising and implementing the national sales strategy.

  • Engage with customers and end user groups to promote and demonstrate the range of products.

  • Support and train distributor sales teams on equipment ranges.

  • Visit end users promote and demonstrate the products and highlight the benefits to the client with a view to gaining specification.

  • Strategic ongoing account management.

  • Research and explore strategic supplier partnerships with a view to adding complimentary products to the range.

  • Closely track industry news to ensure that you are aware of any new openings or refurbishments.

  • Establish strong professional relationships with your distributor and consultant clients.

  • Invite key clients to the demo facility to showcase the product range and conduct live testing with their menu items.

  • Ensure regular internal communication with your manager to update on activity, share customer feedback and queries, and with marketing to suggest potential marketing activities.

  • Monthly sales reporting.


The person

This role will be part of a small and close-working team. The business culture is hands-on, driven, flexible and self-sufficient - it is not an environment where you will be micro-managed. Instead they value sales professionals who are self-motivated and capable of independently driving strategy.


  • Experience of working with key end user client groups across the bakery and patisserie channels.

  • Proven sales experience of either foodservice equipment solutions or premium food solutions.

  • Experience of selling foodservice equipment to clients, distributors, and consultants.

  • Excellent organisation and journey-planning skills with the ability to cover a large geographical territory.

  • Flexible to travel extensively and stay away from home when required.

  • Strong self-management skills with a strong work ethic.

  • Personable, professional, and tenacious.

  • Passionate about the foodservice industry in particular your area of specialism.

  • Demonstrable experience of selling premium/specialist equipment solutions -a consultative seller who seeks to understand the need of the customer along with the challenges they face and propose a solution which will add value to their operation.

  • Previous experience as a pastry chef would be desirable but not essential.
