Catering Sales Specialist -Public Sector

to £49,000 OTE plus vehicle and benefits

The Role

Due to their continued success and growth in the UK we are recruiting two exciting new roles to drive sales across the public sector including hospitals & care, education, government and defence. Responsibilities include:

  • Thorough research of the customer landscape to establish decision-makers, influencers and buying behaviours (online, over the phone and in person).

  • Make contact with target clients to introduce yourself and the business, schedule visits.

  • At the customer site, or the UK Head Office, present the products to the customers to demonstrate how they can improve their catering offering and deliver value.

  • Plan and maintain a regular schedule of calls, visits and equipment demonstrations.

  • Communicate regularly with your colleagues to maximise support and lead-sharing opportunities.

  • Build relationships with the key catering equipment distributors supplying the public sector to offer product support and harness sales opportunities.

  • Build and maintain excellent professional relationships with your clients -they will rely on you as the company expert and advisor for their needs.


The person

This role could suit an internal salesperson looking for their next step into field sales, or a chef/catering professional currently working in the public sector and looking to move into sales. You will receive an induction which is second-to-none along with ongoing support and development.


We are looking to speak to candidates with the following:


  • A sales and/or culinary background.

  • Experience of selling to/working with/for public sector customers.

  • A thorough approach to researching a market and mapping out opportunities.

  • Excellent face-to-face communication skills, able to build a rapport and develop positive professional relationships where you are the trusted advisor.

  • Comfortable presenting equipment (i.e. live cooking) to an audience and presenting the benefits that the products can deliver to the catering facility (full training will be provided).

  • A desire to succeed and hit your targets, strives for growth.

  • Flexible to cover a large geographical area and stay away from home when required.
